David Lloyd specializes in still life and landscape photography and has provided images for a wide range of editorial, advertising and commercial commissions. He’s exhibited internationally, run workshops for the RHS and the Welsh Tourist Board and lectured all over the world. He and artist Annie Beagent set up Spirit of the Rose Publishing, their book prompted Alan Titchmarsh to say “Never have I seen roses photographed so beautifully.”
David will show you every aspect of his work, through portfolio to presentations. You’ll learn to produce images with mood and atmosphere, with emphasis on the landscape, nature, gardens and flowers. He will set you a personal target and tailor his tuition to individual and group experience.
You’ll be staying in Chez Castillon an 18th century townhouse in Castillon la Bataille on the banks of the Dordogne and your truly excellent hosts are actors Mickey and Janie. Castillon is an archetypal French town with historic buildings, bustling market, specialist shops and plenty of cafés and restaurants. Surrounded by the vineyards of Bordeaux it’s just a 10 minute drive from St Emilion. Behind the gates of Chez Castillon, Mickey and Janie have created a peaceful haven for their guests. There are 8 newly decorated en suite guest rooms, all with stunning views. There’s a library, elegant salon and dining room that guests are free to use. Classes are held in the large airy course room which opens onto the garden. Outside there’s a beautiful, secluded garden with a large pool and lounging area to relax in. All meals are prepared using local, fresh, seasonal produce and along with wine are included in the package.
